Pacman’s Newest Problem

Anyone who knows sports knows the name Adam “Pacman” Jones. The infamous professional athelete who was a cornerback at West Virginia and now plays for the Cincinnati Bengals (but used to play for the Titans and Cowboys) seems to have more off the field problems. Everyone remembers the infamous Las Vegas strip club shooting that supposedly Pacman was involved in (even though he denies any parts of any type of involvement). And even though he was suspended for a season, the effects of that shooting havent worn off.Heres where the ridiculousness begins.

Pacman has been ordered by a Las Vegas judge to pay a total off 11 million dollars to 3 people affected by the shooting. He has to pay $9.6 million to a victim in a wheelchair that was a strip club employee. He was to pay another million or so to someone else injured… AND THEN he has to pay the guy in a wheelchairs’ wife $750,000 for her loss of marital relations. Now heres where it gets interesting. Mr. Jones was never served any jail time for the incident and still denies any involvement. Second Jones only make $950,000 in his contract with the Bengals. HOW DO THEY EXPECT HIM TO PAY A TOTAL OF $11 MILLION IF HE ONLY MAKES $950,000 a year??? Im sure he has bills and a family to take care of too.. And who gets awarded money for loss of marital relations when the husband is already getting over $9 million? This whole thing is just a mess, but I hope Pacman budgeted his money well….And Im guessing we wont see anymore videos of him throwing almost $100,000 at strippers anymore either huh?????

Parting Ways: Magic Edition

Yesterday, it was announced that the Orlando Magic have released head coach Stan Van Gundy from his duties. Also the GM and the organization have decided to part ways. Now this is all after Magic Center Dwight Howard had supposedly requested for the Magic to get rid of Van Gundy in exchange for him signing a long term contract. And I guess the team fell into his request, but theres still alot of questions surrounding the firing. Why would the Magic get Imagerid of a coach whos never had a losing season? Or why would they get rid of Van Gundy, without knowing for sure if Dwight Howard will continue to stay with the Magic in the long run? OR is Dwight Howard really a big baby, complaining to management, behind Van Gundy’s back????

In the end, whats done is done and only time will tell what more will come of the situation. I just cant wait til Stan Van Gundy comes out and talks about the situation (if he ever does)…
